Blogger Spotlight: Eve's Eden

Meet the adorable girl behind the blog, Eve's Eden!

What's your favorite thing about blogging?
It is such an open way to express yourself! When I started I did not have any reader at all but I was happy because the I did not really intended my posts to be read. But as the things I blog about changes, the readership changes. I am glad that my blog reflects my simple life quite clearly.
Who is someone in the Fashion Industry who inspires you?
Does Alexa Chung count? I don't frequent style.com for fashion shows but I would say I kind of style-stalk Alexa Chung, Zooey Deschanel, Keira Knightley and Emma Watson.
What are some blogs you check often?
The Clothes Horse is my daily favourite! Other blogs that I visit (almost daily) are Le Blog de Sushi, Madamoiselle Robot and Liebemarlene Vintage.
What's your favorite trend right now?
Oh that is a hard one. It is winter in New Zealand so I would have to say big coats, capes and boots (either ankle boots or over-the-knee). Nothing beats nice warm clothes.
Whose Fall 2010 collections did you like best?
Chloe! I have to say the one that sticks in my brain is Chloe's. Even though I am sure I cannot pull those outfit off nicely. It is still nice to watch.
If you could work in the Fashion Industry, what job would you want?
Hmm... A stylist maybe? Since I am not that gifted in the designer part and I am too short to be a model. That is the first possible answer that came to my mind mainly because of all the freebies I can get. A fashion magazine editor would be amazing as well - if not, better.
Are you studying Fashion?
No. I am currently working towards a double degree in law and economics. Nothing close to fashion at all, but I would love to take a short course if I could make time.
Favorite Designers?
I don't really have one. I tend to like one piece from this designer and another from the other designer. I wish I can put more time and find a true favourite though.
Favorite Magazine?
Frankie Magazine and Shop Till You Drop, both from Australia.
What's your favorite piece in your closet?
A simple grey shirt dress I got when I was seventeen. It still fits perfectly. I bought it when I first started doing my own clothes shopping. My best friend convinced me that I had to have it. It appeared in a Cleo magazine the month after that purchase was made and we were both overwhelmed that it happened.
If you could spend a day with anyone, who would it be and why?
I have never thought of that question before but I reckon I will pick some smart insightful economist or a reputable judge or political leader, a philosopher or possibly Anthony Robbins. I don't think it will be someone from the fashion industry. I guess it will depend on the things that I am doing at the moment and the circumstances of my surroundings.
Favorite music?
Secondhand Serenade is currently on my playlist. She and Him was on my playlist last week, I am thinking about Mika for next week.
Where's somewhere you'd love to visit?
New York, Paris, Tokyo and Stockholm.
Where have your travels taken you?
I am originally from Malaysia, and am currently in Christchurch, New Zealand. Our family travelled quite a bit when I was younger but mainly in Asia. So far I have been to Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, USA, Mexico and Australia. As much as the anglophile I am I have never been to England (yet).

How long have you been blogging?
I started this blog in high school, and had recently switched to fashion blogging last year.
Where do you get insparation from?
I get inspired mainly by the blogs I frequent, magazines and sometimes videos and movies. I like to duplicate outfits that I saw and liked with whatever I have in my wardrobe.
What are some of your favorite places to shop?
I adore vintage shops and some online vintage sources. They always have amazing and unique pieces. I also love expensive shoes boutiques and high street designer stores even though I often cannot afford them.

As you may know, I usually am not a fan of personal style blogs, but Eva's blog is one of my few exceptions. I love the way she mixes vintage with modern in a very inspirational way. Check out Eva's blog here!
