The Accessories Junkie is a blog all about-you guessed it- accessories!
Arlyn, a fab girl and the creator of The Accessories Junkie, keeps her readers updated about the hottest new accessories, the latest sales, and things she loves, with tons of cute pics of shoes, bags and jewelry along the way. I personally love her blog and I can't help but drool over some of the shoes.
Justine: Why did you start blogging?

Justine: Why did you start blogging?
Arlyn: I’ve always been a writer. It’s what pays the bills (and fuels my shopping habit). I love accessories (it’s what sucks up my budget.) So I thought, why not pair the two together?
Why a blog about Accessories?
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE clothes, I just love handbags, and shoes and jewelry more. In my opinion, accessories let you personalize your look better than clothes. Two girls could be wearing the same outfit, but look completely individual with their own unique use of accessories.
What are some of your favorite brands when it comes to Accessories?
Omg, I don’t even know where to begin. I’ll take cheap all the way up to budget-busting. Banana Republic makes amazing, high-quality jewelry for relatively low prices. Forever 21 has great, dirt-cheap goods, too!
What's your favorite trend right now?
I’ve been seeing more and more bold accessory choices lately, and I love that. What fun is fashion if you can’t take some risks sometimes.
If you could have one designer piece, what would it be?
That’s a toss up between a pair of flashy Christian Louboutin heels, or a black quilted Marc Jacobs satchel.
What do you like best about blogging?
Blogging has opened up a world to be that I didn’t even know existed. I’ve only been doing it for a few months, but I’ve already met so many amazing, talented people, who are shaping the way I look at fashion, and my own style.
Who is someone in the Fashion Industry who inspires you?
My uncle, Edmundo Castillo. He’s always been my door to high-fashion, and he does what he loves. His collections for Sergio Rossi, his own brand Edmundo Castillo, Donna Karen, and beyond have always made a mark on the fashion industry for his innovation and gut.
What Fall 2010 collections did you like best?
It’s too hot in Florida right now to think about fall clothes!
If you could work anywhere in the Fashion Industry, what job would you want?
Since I’m a magazine editor by day (blogger by night…or lunch break) I’d definitely want to be an editor for a fashion magazine or website. Style editor, or accessories editor would be amazing!
What's your favorite decade for Fashion/Accessories?
I love more vintage-inspired accessories that look like I pulled them straight out of my mother’s teenage closet, or stole them from a 1950s housewife. So, I’d have to say the 50s, 60s and 70s.
What is your favorite type of Accessory?
Oh geez…I guess I’d have to say shoes. Shoes completely transform an outfit from drab to fab (sorry….that phrase is so cliché, but it’s true!) To me, a bad pair of shoes can ruin any outfit, no matter how pretty it is, and vice versa.
Favorite Fashion Magazine?
Lucky, Marie Claire, Glamour, Allure, People Style Watch. I love you all equally!
Favorite thing in your closet?
Oh boy. Either my purple Coach Sabrina satchel, or my Sergio Rossi flats (thanks uncle!).
If you could spend a day with anyone, who would it be?
Fashion wise? I’d probably say Tim Gunn! He’s so polished, poised and the man knows what he’s talking about. How about some lunch, Tim?
When did you start loving Fashion?
Again, I have to pin this back to my uncle. I remember sitting in front of the tv watching runway shows he attended that he brought for my mom, sister and I to watch. But, before that, I also remember refusing to leave the house with anything less than one ring on each finger, a purse and high heels. Mind you, I was probably about 4 years old!
Where's somewhere you would love to visit?
The Maldives! Or basically any exotic island in the Pacific. Well, or Redwood National Forest (is that the name?)
How long have you been blogging?
Only a few months now, but I love every minute of it!
If you were given $1,000 what would you spend it on?
To be honest, I’d probably buy something for someone else, like my mom, but if I have to be entirely selfish (woo hoo!), either a vacation, or a ridiculously lavish piece of jewelry…or shoes.
