I love this school themed ed. It seemed appropriate considering that school is right around the corner. I can't believe I'm going to be a senior this year. It just baffles me. Where did the time go? It didn't really hit me until last week when I had to say goodbye to dear friends as they left for college. I'm so happy for them and what they will achieve and learn, but holy cow, I miss them already! Actually, college and school are the reasons that I have been posting so rarely these past few weeks. I've been doing math, french, and music theory all summer in order to get higher scores on my ACT and earn some extra credits. I have really missed blogging, but I'm really happy with improving scores and my french literacy. Hopefully I'll be able to pace myself and not neglect blogging in the upcoming school year! Thank you so much for continuing to read and subscribe during this time. I love and appreciate every comment and new reader more than you know. Happy Monday!

Jeanne Lanvin's Library
Call me a nerd, but few things make me happier then very old books. Look and smell of them, the old english... and the binding and pages... wow. They're like works of art and a piece of history all on their own. I have stacks of old books in my room and I love looking at them and carefully thumbing through their fragile yellow pages.
I was happy to find these pics of Jeanne Lanvin's library on The Selby! Gorgeous books. I can't even begin to image what's inside them (but I wish I knew!).

When I'm "cleaning my room".
I was "cleaning my room" and I ended up with a cloud-themed mood board. If you don't know what a mood board is, here's a good example.
.
... And here's mine. ( sorry, I think my camera lens was a bit dirty)
I had fun making it. I don't know why I was thinking of clouds so much. That pouf-skirted Erin Featherson dress really inspired me, and it all just took off from there. It has ribbons, magazine cut outs, notes, quotes, book pages and a tall straw hat. Sounds perfect, no? The Balenciaga pice is from an Agatha Christine book, and the notes are my notes that I wrote in my copy of The Teen Vogue Handbook.

All the world's a runway
It's a very gray day in NY today.
I actually really love gray Sundays
You tend to stay home and do absolutely nothing at all, which is rather lovely after a busy week.
On gray days I tend to...
Strike a random pose

Look at pretty pictures
I put lime juice in my water because water can be boring
I become very bored.
(If only I was bored while wearing Chanel and Miu Miu!)
I throw on a J.Crew sweater and I read about the history of fashion magazines or the history of Prada or the history of Chanel or "The invention of Wellies" or something to that effect.
I learn that in America you spell it GRAY and in England they spell it GREY. Who knew?
What do you do on grey days?

Snow Day
The view from my front door
I envy all of you at the equator.
On the upside, 3 snow days last week!
Snow can be so pretty the first day or so, and you love it and never want it to go. Then people start walking in it and it turns to slush and it's FREEZING!!!!! Why is it so cold? WHY???
It's far too cold.
It's good thing I stocked up on reading material... okay, lots of reading material. It took me FOREVR to get through "In Vogue". It had 400+ pages. Eh. Who Cares. I could read about Vogue all day.
Dior In Vogue was stunning. I didn't care for Influence too much, I only read the interviewees of the designers or models I liked. I dropped the Anna Wintour book fast because I realized it was an unauthorized bio. If I'm going to study Anna Wintour (she's one of my all time heros), then I'll wait for a Authorized Bio.
Okay, so it's like 20 degrees. Cute coat, or ugly warm coat? I can't decide. What would you wear?
Have you read any of those books?
