Style Profile: Eva Fontanelli

Eva's skill when it comes to outfit styling and mastering personal style amazes me. She manages to look impeccable without ever showing too much skin or being in bad taste. Something about her ensembles are so classy and understated, yet if you do a double take you realize the amount of thought that went into the proportions and awareness to body shape. She's such a tremendous style inspiration to me!

The Sartorialist

I have a wonderful friend named Scott Shuman. It's an interesting relationship, he and myself. It's interesting because he doesn't know that I exist, and also because I'm obsessed. Not with him, per se -I'm no stalker-but with his work. He happens to be my favorite photographer and he runs The Sartorialist, my favorite blog. I check his blog three times a day and love it dearly. People who you would see on the street and not give a second thought to, Scott sees something more. I am constantly amazed at his attention to detail and his ability to find the chicness in simple things. He'll shoot anyone, from magazine editors to random men in the street, and the photos will be equal in beauty. In every shot I feel as if the picture is telling a story. You see so much more than just clothes in his pictures. You truly see the subject's personality. After following his blog for so long, I love seeing people on the street and wondering what Scott Shuman would say about their look. It has given me a greater attention to detail in my outfit choices and in many other ways as well. As a blogger myself, I often marvel at his descriptions and explanations as well as his photographs. I'm the kind of blogger who says 'I love this look' after a glance at a photo and call it a day. He explains why he shot the person and why the outfit works so well. I'm also jealous of his knowledge of tailoring. He knows exactly what he's talking about! When I see a post of his, the first thing that comes to mind is 'that's genius'. I've come to realize just what The Sartorialist is: genius. I'm so grateful that he started this blog and that he shares all his discoveries with the world. I am also grateful for all the lessons I've learned through reading his blog: Never judge a book by its cover and never underestimate people.

Speaking of trench coats, I found a Burberry one in my old closet last week. It must have been in there for 10 years.  I kind of just stood in shock for a couple seconds. Then I screamed "MOM"...
Then I talked to my mom and she said someone gave it to her years ago, but it was a mans coat. Then my dad came in and tried it on and it fit like a glove. I think I would wear a Burberry coat if it fit me. Even if it were a man's coat. Let's just say, my dad now looks very, very dapper.

4. write down all the books you would love to read

Hahaha I bought/borrowed several amazing books the past few days

I was sooo happy to get this!(I bought it) It finally came in the mail yesterday! I started reading immediately, and it's very very good. I'm really learning allot. In the back of the book there's notepaper, which I really like( whenever I read a book like this I always have a notebook with me). AND there was a form in my book that you send in, and you get a free year of Teen Vogue magazine! YAY! :) haha. Everything about this book is great. I Had heard nothing but good things about this book when it came out, and I was just thinking I WANT THAT!!! But my wallet was thinking "you can't have that". Thank goodness for library cards. I'm really into street fashion lately and this book is PERFECT. Scott Schuman has such a great eye for fashion and originality. The pictures in this book were amazing. I already read it twice. This will be going on my wishlist. :) I haven't quite finished reading this one yet, but from what I have seen the pictures are great! That's what I love about New York: everyone has a different original style. Even though I have to say, I really don't like what the girl on the cover is wearing. At all. Blech.
