Fashion Week Outfit, Feat. Qi Cashmere and Craft & Culture

With February's New York Fashion Week just around the corner, I thought I would show you my favorite outfit from last fashion week. I was lucky enough to work with two amazing brands to pull the outfit together (Qi Cashmere and Craft & Culture), and the result was one really excited me. Check it out!

The sweater from Qi Cashmere is beautiful. The material is lightweight but very warm, and the knit and fit are perfect. It's great for dressing up or hanging out in a pair of jeans in, and it's something I'll be able to wear for many seasons to come.

The amazing necklace is a one-of-a-kind piece by designer Meghann Sommer. I saw it online and I wanted it instantly. What it didn't expect was that it would weigh a ton (it has a leather strap that goes around your neck instead of a chain), but getting to wear something so special was worth it!  I love statement pieces, and the ones Meghann makes are incredible. I really hope to buy some of her pieces one day.

The lip color I used is really cool product from OCC Cosmetics called Lip Tar. I love it because it can be applied as light or as heavy as you want, and it wears for a long time. The product comes in the tiniest little tube, but it lasts for months because very light application is encouraged. The rusty red color I used is called Starling. 

Craft & Culture also let me borrow this beautifully simple necklace from designer Fail to wear. It's such a sweet little piece! It's so comfortable that you forget you're wearing it. 

And, of course, bloopers. 

Six Things I liked at Aisnley Spring 2012

The inspiration behind Aisnley spring 2012- Palm Springs! It really makes you wish it was summer again, doesn't it?

1. The Kristen Shirt

This shirt was my favorite in the collection! I'm obsessed with the smokey tones, asymmetrical hemline and brown/grey combination. Want want want...

2. The Reese jacket

I love this so much it hurts. It can be worn down (as seen in the second picture) or the ends can be buttoned up for a cool twisted look. I can see myself wearing this all the time.

3. Butterflies!

This print is so fun and original! What better way to celebrate spring than with colorful print?

4. Elbow Patches

I am a huge lover of elbow patches (have posted about them here), so I was especially smitten by this awesome jacket/blazer. I mean, come on now. Elbow patches, asymmetrical hemline, easy to wear, and duel-toned. I'm in love.

5. Tweed + Fabulous Fur

I saw this coat and I instantly said " Can I try this on?" But being a blogger, not a model, there is always the same problems. First, the jacket is a size two. Secondly, I am not a size two. But I went for it anyway.

Ah, the trouble with having curves. But it doesn't matter. The coat is beautiful anyway. I never got to show you this look from fashion week! Skirt is Vintage, blouse is JC Penny (Ah, wearing JC Penny to fashion week. Welcome to my world.) and the metal cuff is Forever21. Coat is Ainsley.

This is another great Ainsley coat.

Project Alabama Spring 2012

I recently got the awesome opportunity to check out Project Alabama's spring 2012 collection, and I totally fell in love with it! Soft fabrics, light breezy colors, with gorgeous magentas and blush tones throughout the collection. It's really refreshing to see a return to soft romantic silhouettes after so many seasons of harsh, intense shapes and colors. I really loved the embroidery and original fabrics showcased. I think it's fantastic when brands add little interesting details!

Ohne Titel- The Making Of A Dress

I'm in love with these images! It's so insightful to see how a runway look is made from start to finish, especially when it's a look as lovely as this Ohne Titel dress. (By the way, I found out yesterday that 'Ohne Titel' actually means 'No Title' in German. I always wondered what their name meant!) Happy Monday, dears. Here's to a great week.

Checking Out Ammara!

I got the chance to check out the fabulous brand, Ammara, while I was at Coterie on Tuesday, and I instantly fell in love with the soft fabrics and fun, feminine dresses and blouses. Not only were the clothes lovely, but the people were even more so. It's a fantastic company! I even got the chance to chat with Ammara Yaquab, the designer of the collection. She was ridiculously nice. Here's some of my favorite things about Ammara's Spring 2012 collection!

I loved the fringe neckline on this dress! Everything about it, the color, the waistline etc. is perfect. I want it!

The petal print on these were sooo gorgeous. I would wear any of these in a heartbeat. I mean, check out that Maxi dress!

 I'm loving the shine in the embroidery!

 The detail on this sleeve was lovely.

Oh my...

This dress just might be my favorite dress in the collection! Leather and chiffon? Can it get any better? Also, it looks just as nice on a person as it does on the model. It's really a show stopping dress in person!
