Meet Padrick!

Do you remember this post? I wrote it because I was excited about using Onswipe's tablet publishing technology on the blog. Well, ever since that post went live,  several very, very amusing things have happened. Later that same day I got an email from Onswipe's CEO Jason- he was thrilled with the post and as a token of thanks he said that they would love to send me an iPad. That was when my brain said "WAIT, WHAT DID HE JUST SAY????" But there it was right in front of me "we'd love to send you a new iPad." I did this weird crying thing in my room and then I ran outside with tears streaming down my face. I did this bizarre scream of joy and then sort of collapsed onto the grass in my front yard. Then I found my mom and proceeded to fling my laptop in her face so she could read the email. Onswipe was serious!!!! This was actually happening! Well, fast forward a bit and Padrick has arrived at my house. He's positively amazing and I feel so, so blessed. He's made schoolwork, test prep, and blogging a dream and it's been wonderful having him in my life. It's like I'm able to touch the internet.  I'm honestly in love with him (you know you are a fashion blogger when you're boyfriend-less and in love with your iPad). I'm so, so, so grateful to the incredible people at Onswipe for their generosity and kindness. You guys have changed my life for the better and I can't thank you enough!

At the close of this long and eventful year, I just want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for reading The Girl In The Check Scarf. This blog is a huge part of my life and it has opened a door to many opportunities for me, and I thank you for reading and making that possible. Without a doubt, this blog has changed my life! My readers are are like friends who I hear from once in a while who share my love for fashion- I love that! You are so incredible, and your words and messages and comments make my day. Seriously, whenever I get a couple comments it's like the whole day gets better. 

       2011 was quite the year for me, and I thank you so much for being a part of it. I'm so excited for 2012 and I can't even imagine all the exciting, new, life-changing things that come with it. Have a happy, beautiful, bright 2012!

I have really fallen in love with this stock photo website called Fotolia. They have millions of images and I was able to use some on the blog! I really recommend that you give it a try! It's perfect for finding images to spruce up your blog or website, and all the images are royalty free. I found it to be a great resource to have access to, especially as a blogger. Check it out!

Happy Birthday, Blog!

So here we are! One year, 240 posts later! 

It has been such an adventure and I have loved every bit of it! Thank you so much for all your comments, emails and support! Thank you for reading my blog. I love you Lovelies so much! I have learned so much through this blog and I have made so many friends from around the world. It has helped me gain knowledge of journalism and increased my knowledge of fashion drastically. Thank you for wanting to hear what I have to say and for letting me express myself. I know everyone says it, but I truly love blogging. This blog is always on my mind whether it's post ideas or ways to make it better. I have gained so much and my love of fashion has grown immensely. I really just started out because I knew that I loved fashion, but now I really see that it's something I want as a career. Since the blog has started, I have become a fashion student and had multiple internships (all brought about by the blog!). I'm really unbelievably thrilled at how big the blog has gotten. I have enjoyed this experience more then you know! I always love hearing from you, so drop me a line whenever you can.
