Esther's style is incredible. She blends masculine and feminine dressing concepts flawlessly. (i.e. a suit paired with heels, a floral blazer) She's quickly become one of my biggest style muses! Remind me to keep Esther's style in mind when I'm back to school shopping...

Outfit Post With Sugarlips Apparel!
Those of you who have been following The Girl In The Check Scarf for a while will know that I generally shy away from posting photos of myself unless I have something awesome, incredible, amazing, or downright fantastic to show you. Well, I think these pictures qualify! I was so excited and grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Sugarlips clothing and my good friend Randi. I was a bit nervous about taking photos (I'm a far cry from Gisele) but Randi did a superb job photographing the look and I couldn't believe how well the photos came out.
Sugarlips (our wonderful new sponsor) sent me their Blooming Gardenias skirt with the intention that I put my own spin on it. My style is far from girly, so I toughened things up a bit with wedges, a leather jacket and some shades. I really loved the rocker look, and I thought it contrasted well with such a feminine, flowy skirt! The asymmetric hem is a nice detail, too- it makes the skirt really fresh and very on-trend. I'm really considering wearing it to fashion week!
Again, a huge thanks to Randi Butler Photography and Sugarlips.com! Heck, maybe I'll even do outfit posts more often. What say ye?
You can see more of Randi's work by checking out her website, and be sure to show Sugarlips some love on facebook and twitter!

Pastel + Rock
Nicole by Rasmus Skousen for Grazia France
I know that pastels have been one of the biggest trends for spring, but I never liked them until I saw this editorial. Mixed with the sharper cuts and metallic accents, they look really, really cool. Also, how sick are the sunglasses in the first shot??? I'm in love!

One Awesome Presentation, Warby Parker.
I'm all about new ideas and creativity, and when someone thinks outside the box it just captivates me. So it shouldn't be hard to imagine why I'm so in love with Warby Parker's fashion week presentation. When I hear 'presentation', I think of of perfect looking models standing motionless in studios while fashionable show-goers take photos and notes. Warby Parker redefined the idea of a 'presentation' and held theirs in the New York Public Library! Epicness! Not being there myself, Vogue described the event... "During a blink-and-you-missed-it event, models and friends of the designers seated around the silent studying room—all wearing Warby Parker shades and glasses—simultaneously raised up robin’s-egg-blue books, titled with Warby Parker’s style names." I wish I could have been there! Here are some of the shots... (photos via Vogue.com)
Well done, Warby Parker. Well done. Which pair is your favorite? They have some of the sickest specs around! (if you couldn't already see that. haha.) Check them all out at www.warbyparker.com!
