ODILON by Stacey Clark

I got to check out Odilon shortly after Fashion Week, and I instantly fell in love with the the collection's sleek cuts, fresh citrus colors and cool-girl vibe. The pieces are minimalist (Which is 100% me!) but totally not boring, and the collection features everything from evening dresses to separates. One of my favorite things about the collection is the blouses. The cut is perfect and I fell in love the moment I laid eyes on them! I really like the blue/black/green/yellow print used throughout. It reminds me of zippers! The Spring 2012 collection was inspired by 90s era Venice Beach, CA; "Tomboys" in love: Francoise Hardy, Kim Gordon, Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain; skate parks; & contemporary artist Cheryl Dunn's 1998 film of Mark Gonzales' "skate ballet" performance in a German art museum. The shark tooth jewelry was a Fauxtale x Odilon collaboration consisting of silver cast shark teeth. (Which you can see more of here.)

Here's a better view of the awesome print.

Also, how chic is Odilon's designer Stacey Clark? She was kind enough to pose for me. I was saying how the line almost reminded me of Celine when it comes to the cuts, and replied "Oh, I love Celine. I'm actually wearing it right now." Please take note of that incredible Celine Bag.

For more Odilon, check 'em out on twitter and tumblr.

Checking Out Melissa Spring 2012: Fantastic Plastic!

A while back I had the privilege to check out the spring 2012 collection from melissa shoes! I really adore melissa. The shoes are fun and quirky with a fashion edge that I just love. I was initially drawn to the brand because of their amazing collaboration with Jason Wu, (see below for pics!) but then I fell in love with it even more when I saw the awesome collaborations from the likes of Vivianne Westwood, Alexandre Herchcovitch, and Campana. Here's some of my favorite styles...
melissa + Campana (also featured above).
Loving the whimsical design. It reminds me a little of Cinderella's glass slippers.

melissa + Gareth Pugh

melissa + Jason Wu
I love the bow detail. I wish I had a pair of these in black!

melissa + J. Maskrey.
For me, these were the prettiest shoes of the day. They're seriously gorgeous and they sparkle like crazy. All the Swarovski crystals are hand placed. It's like they stepped out of some beautiful fairy tale!

melissa + Vivianne Westwood.
I don't know a fashion blogger who doesn't want these shoes, and I can't blame them. They're pretty cute.

Thanks melissa! For more cuteness, check 'em out on the web at www.melissa.com. Have a fantastic weekend, Lovelies!

My Fashion Week Diary.

Fashion week, oh fashion week. As stressful and crazy as it is, I still manage to really enjoy all the hubbub. I was going through my notebooks from the shows and I realized that I wrote down what I did with my time for one day of NYFW. I though I would share it with you guys! So, here it is.  What happens when a 16 year-old attemps to take on NYFW. (I'm warning you, it's not always glamorous.)

- It's early in the morning and I somehow have managed to splatter Starbucks hot chocolate all over my shirt while I'm in my fashion week outfit. This would only happen to me.

-I realize that I'm just a child. Fashion people don't spill things on themselves. Duh.

-Get to a showroom after roaming around the garment district trying to find their building.

-Notice that Vivienne Tam is in the same building. Resist the urge to stop in unannounced.

-Arrive at said showroom and notice that a lady in the office is wearing the awesome Prada creepers from the spring 2011 collection. Feel intense jealously.

-See the some fantastic spring collections. I can't wait for spring to come! Color and prints everywhere.

-Walk to Lincon center after the showroom visit. Micheal Costello from Project Runway walks right past me. What the heck?

-Notice the Cynthia Rowely Glambulence at Columbus Circle and wait in line for at least 45 min before I get my hair done.

-I met some lovely people in that line. A woman from Moet Hennessy, a designer, and friend of Deborah Lippman. She tells me that Deborah is a fantastic Jazz Singer. Who knew???

-The hair stylist could tell I was Jewish because of my "Smooth hair and clear skin." I told him it was clinique. He thinks it's genes. Then, he proceeds to convince me to get Keratin treatment.

-I pick up some Cynthia Rowley for Band-aid Band aids. They're adorable! There are now one hundred little models on my thumb.

-I dash off to Lincon Center and view the festivities. I make a pretty cute tote bag at the Rowenta booth.

-Waris Ahuwalia walks past me. Is this real life?

- I feel sick from all the commotion and noise and sit outside on the fountain so I can get some air.

-See a lady walking by who is dressed in a ridiculous bathing suit with stripper heels and a Las Vegas headdress. It gets quiet as everyone just watches her walk by. I look at the woman next to me, she looks at me, and we both start laughing. It was awesome.

-I comment on the the Chanel nail polish that the woman on my right is wearing and we strike up a conversation. She works at NYLON magazine and we get some pictures together (hey @itsmeAddieT!).

-I remember that I actually have a show to catch and I get in a little late, but I get in line.

-I start talking to the girl next to me, and it turns out that she's sixteen as well! (Hi Ashley!)

-We notice that two Project Runway contestants are in line just ahead of us, Becky and Cecilia.

-Seating at this show is based on first-come, first-served. So I'm in the seventh row. Dangit.

-The show manager says she wants us to fill some seats. Some blonde gitl in a mini dress trys to cut in front of me and I cut her off.  I end up in the fourth row.

-The show is lovely, and the clothes are great. Nigel Barker and Robert Verdi are here, among others.

-I see one of my favorite models, Nimue Smit! And the up-and-coming model, Alex, who is my favorite new face of the season. Her talk is so ethereal. I took frantic notes during the show.
PS. Thanks to Rowenta for the photobooth!

-My dad says he didn't hate the show (it was his first fashion show) and he complains that he felt so under dressed. (Oh yes. My dad was there. This is the downside of being only 16.)

-I hit the train and go back home. I'm so tired and all I want to do is collapse, but there's work to be done.

- My dad got bored and borrowed a copy of The Daily from me. I get a brilliant shot. (He hates this picture. I love it.)

-Read as many blog posts and view as many new collections as possible before hitting the hay. Write a rant about color on the Spring Runways (which you can see here. haha)

-I realize that all the people who I meet during fashion week who tell me 'Hon, you'll go far in this business"may actually be telling the truth. Then I start feeling like Hannah Montana because I realize I'm in the city for fashion week one day, but I need to be back in time for school the next day because of  chemistry test.

Well, I hope you enjoyed that 'day-in-the-life'. I'm so excited for February when I can do it all again! Also, the winner of our Qi Cashmere giveaway is... drum roll please... Brandy! Thanks so much to all who entered! Brandy, you'll be hearing from me.

Five Things I Loved At Sass & Bide Spring 2012

Sass & Bide has been a favorite brand of mine for ages! They always surprise me each season with their fresh take on prints, cuts and colors. Their Spring 2012 collection featured everything from chic black and white polka dots to proper collared shirts (in a shocking shade of yellow, of course) to clean minimalism frocks and neon necklaces. In light of all this, you can imagine how excited I was to snag some shots of the collection! Here are just a few of my favorite things that I saw at Sass and Bide...

    1. Zig Zag - I love the sheer fabric mixed with the bold yellow. So fun.

    2. Cobalt- Oh my goodness, you have no idea how badly I want this skirt! The asymmetrical hemline is flawless and the color is perfect!

    3. Metallics- I never met a metallic, well, anything that I didn't like.

    4. Sparkles!

    5. How adorable are Sass & Bide's leading ladies Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke with their girls on the runway? Awwwww.

Here are some of my other favorite looks...
(Oh, how I love a good maxi skirt.)

Checking Out Francis by Christian Francis Roth!

I got the awesome opportunity a while back to check out Francis by Christian Francis Roth and see the spring 2012 collection. I love Christian's work! This collection is so light and exciting. Entitled "The Good Life" I feel like it really continues the story he started last season with his "Mod Life" collection (see it here) for fall 2011, but here the concept has been bathed in bold prints and patterns. Mod, sixties, geometric, and bold. What's not to love? Read on to see some detail shots, plus my favorite looks form spring 2012.
This coat just kills me. Perfection!

I love this arty dress. The colors are awesome.
I would wear this in a second!

Thanks Francis! Check them out on facebook here and on twitter here. Which is your favorite look? I personally love the blue dress with the pockets and pink buttons. So chic!
