Shop Here Now: Moorea Seal

I just found blogger Moorea Seal's webstore yesterday, and gosh dangit, it's amazing. So I decided not to be selfish and share it with you. (However, if you make it so that the Tiny Triangle Pendent sells out before I can get my hands on one, we're not best friends anymore. I'm serious, guys.)

Generally, when bloggers have their own webstores, the store only features items from third parties that are hand-picked by the blogger. The blogger will end up making a small percentage of any sale, so I generally don't really check them out because the items and curation aren't really special. But Moorea's webstore has beautifully curated pieces and tons of exclusives, and she just opened her own storefront. You can even search her store by cause and find pieces that benefit causes you care about. And everything is well priced. What is this. How can one store be so amazing. Most of my friends know that I'm impossible to shop for because I'm really, really picky about what I wear, but I'd wear 99.9 percent of everything here in a heartbeat. I don't think I've ever said that about any store ever. So this is a big deal, guys. This post isn't even sponsored. I just really, really love this website.

Check out her wonderful website for beautiful objects at a fair price here. You won't be sorry. (Unless you make all my favorite things sell out. Then you may be sorry,  because I know how much our friendship means to you.) Also, to check out her main blog, look no further than this link. Enjoy!

*Update* - The triangle pendant did sell out. Sorry, we're not friends anymore.

Here's my top 3 favorite pieces from the Moorea Seal store:

Rosemary Shoulder Bag - $30  (for the size, quality and price, $30 is fantastic)

Hammered Stacking Ring - $16 (Not even kidding, I think this is my wedding ring.)

I have about 50 other things I want to share with you, but no one has time for that. So just go to her store and check them out yourself! Happy shopping!

Latest Obsession: Printed Pants

I wear black more or less every day. It's not intentional. It just so happens that when I'm shopping, I'm attracted to structural, black clothing. Prints (or any color, really) aren't typically appealing to me.

But this past weekend, I did something so crazy, so different, so unusual, that it has caused me question my own identity, sanity, and fashion sense. Even my best friend called me today to say "I don't know who you are anymore." The truth is, I don't know what's gotten into me either. I don't know why I did it. But all I know is that I'm happy, and I feel like a million bucks. Here's how it all went down...

"I must be going crazy." I thought as I picked them up. "These are totally not for me. These are for brave, adventurous girls." So I put them back down. "Still..." I thought. "They're pretty freaking fabulous." And the next thing I knew, they were in my shopping bag on the way to the dressing room. And then, they were in my hand on the way to check out.

"These are so not you." Said my dad as we were checking out at the counter. "What's gotten into you?" "I don't know.... but I love them." And then, Cha-ching. It was done. I BOUGHT PRINTED PANTS.

Ever since I realized the beauty of printed pants, I haven't been able to stop wearing them. They're unlike anything in my subdued, minimal closer, but they match nearly everything because they have so many colors in their print. They look amazing with heels, boots, or sneakers, and they make any shirt you're wearing pop. I've been getting compliments on them like crazy.
See kids, sometimes, taking fashion risks really pay off.

Now that I have 2 pairs of these babies, I'm going to need more. and more. and more.

Wild Pair to the rescue! They're having huge sales right now, and it's the perfect time to snag your own pair of perfect printed pants. Here are my top picks their website:

Dressing For College With Bardot

Yes, you read that correctly. I"M GOING TO COLLEGE. And soon, too! I've been accepted to BYU (aka, my dream school) for the summer 2013 semester. I honestly can't wait. I've already picked my housing and classes, and I'm so ready to dive into the college environment. It really breaks my heart to have to leave my family and friends earlier than expected, but I'm looking forward to the new experiences and friends that college will bring. Also, my blog will continue to be updated, so fear not!

But now that I've got all things school-related sorted out, what do I do about clothes? I'll be making the *very* dramatic culture shift from New York to Utah, and I really don't want to loose my darker, more edgy NY style in favor of Utah's sunnier, sweeter fashion sense. Bardot to the rescue! They have some of the sickest accessories, and I'm in love with their uber-trendy dresses. Here are my favorite pieces from their website that I'm dying to take with me to college:

This is an awesome piece. Peplums have been hot for a few seasons now, and this is a great way to add a peplum to any look in a matter of seconds.

Utah weather is skitso. It can be 87 degrees one day and snowing the next, so I have a feeling that hoodies are going to come in really handy.

Plain. Pure. Perfect.

I'm normally not a fan of clutches because they don't leave you hands-free, however, with a strap option this bag would be gorgeous. Practicality first!

Again, this will be great for unpredictable Utah weather.

Be. Still. My. Soul.

Would You Dare To Wear Peplum Hems? (I Would!)

I distinctly remember seeing this spread in Vogue and thinking "No, definitely not, peplums are weird, way too girly, and totally not for me." They're just too frilly and romantic, (That's honestly what they are- frills.) and honestly, I don't feel like participating in this trend. Peplums just seemed pointless to me. I didn't understand them. Well, even though these points are valid, I didn't have a change of heart until I was browsing H&M's e-store and I found THIS.

I was ooing and ahhing over it when I stopped and thought "Woah, wait, this is a peplum hem. And I like it." Different from the ones in spreads and on the spring runways... it's wearable! Hallelujah! Peplum hems don't have to be extreme, it's just not practical. But a hem like this? I could wear it all the time. I totally plan on marching over to my H&M the moment I get my paycheck and adding this little beauty to my closet. I think it would look cute with a pencil skirt, wouldn't you agree?
So, the big question, would you wear a peplum hem?

The Best Headband I Have Ever Owned

I picked up this headband at Claire's not too long ago, and I must say, I'm in love with it! I don't know how I managed without it in my life. I wear it frequently, and it adds a perfect touch of elegance to an outfit. I adore it! It's really a one-of-a-kind item and I haven't seen anything else like it. It's my favorite buy of the summer. The best part? It cost me less then $8. Greatest. Headpiece. Ever.

PS. Yes, I did survive a day at six flags. I rode one roller coaster and I realized that roller coasters petrify me with fear (actually, I realized that they petrify me with fear when I was on El Toro and it was just about to drop). So after avoiding all roller coasters, the rest of the day was pretty awesome :). The only downside was sore feet and sunburn. All in all, a very good day. I recommend riding the Superman and the Batman.

Goodies From CSN Stores!

The lovely people at CSN stores were kind enough to send me some wonderful presents. The fist was this adorable tote bag. I have been using this bag for school and it works perfectly. First off it's HUGE! Nearly a foot-and-a-half tall. The interior is all verrrry pink and has a large pocket which is perfect for pens. It's canvas, and very well made and sturdy. Just be careful not to get it dirty! (hey... that rhymed..)

Next, I got this super cute room chalk board. It's a little over a foot long and very cute. It also sticks right onto the wall because the back is adhesive. Just be careful not to draw too hard.

Thanks CSN stores!

My Dream Wardrobe

I cannot wait for back to school shopping! I'm hoping to go this week. These looks are from the HM look book. I'm loving the camel with the denim like we saw at Chloe. I also love the menswear influence and the great bags!
